Join Rock Girl on Friday, 10 June from 9:30am-until to paint a mural together with the grade 6 girls at the Red River School in Manenberg and install their Safe Spaces bench. Please contact India Baird to confirm your participation.  The Trantaal Brothers, Nathan and Andre, will also be on hand to help.  Special thanks to Freeworld Design Centre for their donation of paint, design talent, and enthusiastic support!

Rock Girl is thrilled to announce that Freeworld Design Centre will host an event to unveil one of the next Safe Spaces benches on Thursday, 4 August, 2011 at the Freeworld Design Centre.  The bench will be located next to the Fan Walk and its sister bench will be installed at the Grassroot Soccer Football for Hope Centre in Khayelitsha.  Watch this site for more details in the coming weeks!

Please submit your designs for a Rock Girl Safe Space bench, to be installed in a public location in Cape Town, to India Baird (indiaviva@earthlink.net) by 20 May.

Winning proposals will receive R5000 to create two safe space benches that will be unveiled in August 2011 for National Women’s Day.
